Legacy Pages

A preserved part of bauck.com from an earlier internet, kept online as a record of where the site began and how it evolved.

Some parts of bauck.com belong to a much earlier phase of the web. They were built in a different internet, with different tools, different expectations, and a very different pace. I have kept many of these pages online because they are part of the history of the site, and in a small way, part of the history of the web itself.

This section brings together selected legacy pages, preserved as records of earlier work, earlier interests, and earlier versions of how a personal website could look and feel.

Why keep legacy pages online?

The web has changed fast. Much of its earlier history has disappeared, been redesigned away, or been broken by platform shifts and neglected links. I have chosen to keep parts of bauck.com intact because continuity matters. These pages show how the site started, how it changed, and how one small corner of the early web kept going.
They are not here as polished brand assets. They are here because they are real parts of the story.

Since 1998

bauck.com first went online in 1998 in a hand-coded form, at a time when having a personal website was still uncommon. That gives the site a long continuity that is now unusual. The Since 1998 page tells that story in more detail and places the site in the context of early personal publishing on the web.

A note on older pages

Some pages in this section are preserved largely as they originally appeared. That means the design, formatting, tone, or structure may reflect the standards of the time rather than the design system of the current site. That is intentional.
