“Hotel investors do not think short term,” he said. “Anyone saying Nairobi is overbuilding hotels is not looking at the long-term trends.”

I was quoted in Tourism Update on whether Nairobi is building too many hotels. I argued that the real question is not supply alone, but whether new projects are properly positioned, differentiated, and backed by real demand. Nairobi can still absorb strong hospitality products, but generic developments without a clear market fit will face much tougher conditions.
